Kingdom Bardic Competition

Greetings unto Atlantia's subjects from your King's Bard; Lady Adrianna du Chesne. Our Beloved Queen's Bard will not be able to be in attendance for our celebration of Twelfth Night, so it falls upon myself to run the competition for our next Kingdom Bard.

Historically, Bards performed many roles; Performer, Historian, and Liaison amongst them. They also provided a much less tangible art; changing the emotional climate to match current needs. Should war be breaking out; a single bard could cool the heads of those who would hear. Should war be necessary, they could excite the masses into action. In short, they had to catch their audience's attention, keep it, but be flexible to the needs of the crown as well as the moment. As all bards should exemplify all of these facets before calling themselves bards (historically speaking), I present the following competition:

Round 1- will focus on engaging your audience. Those wishing to proceed to Round two must curry the favor of those watching to advance to the next round. *AUDIENCE NEEDED!!!* *1pm in the Theater*

Round 2- will focus on your abilities as a performer. Choose your best performance medium and wow those who would judge. *3pm in the Theater*

Round 3- at their Majesties whim.

n.b. If Those of Bardic Circles whom are going to Twelfth Night and are interested in assisting me judging the second round (perchance an hour of your time in cushion seats), please, please, please email be before Friday morning. I have the abilities to judge solo, but it's just not a position I want to find myself in.

Fighter Practice after 12th Night

The Comfort Suites in Rock Hill is graciously allowing us space to host a fighter practice the Sunday Morning after Atlantian Twelfth Night.

We shall start at 10 AM on Sunday January 10th at the grassy area of the Comfort Suites (1323 Old Springdale Road, Rock Hill, SC) this is the recommended hotel that is offering a group rate. Checkout time is still Noon (sorry, couldn't get them to budge on that) but we can sling stuff in the cars and fight it out. This is an official practice subject to all the normal rules and requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for those of us in disparate parts of the Kingdom to put names (and blades) to faces.
